Greek Language School
St. Katherine Greek Language School offers classes for all age groups and all levels. Our popular Mommy and Me class is for children newborn to 3 years of age, it is a 45min class and children learn Greek through music. We have two PreK classes, Kavourakia for children ages 3-4 and Asteries for ages 4-5. The curriculum for both classes is age appropriate and children learn the alphabet, colors, numbers, animals, day-to-day vocabulary and songs, as well as early reading and writing, through crafts and hands-on-activities. Our class Psaria is for children age 5-7 and in this class we do use a reading and writing book. Children quickly learn to read and write basic words and simple sentences and are encouraged to use conversational Greek. All our Upper Lever classes are structured so that our students can develop their reading, writing and conversational Greek, grasp Greek grammar and prepare for the Certificate of Attainment in Greek. We also offer a class for children that are older than 8 but are new to Greek as well as a class for adults if there is enough interest. Some of our classes are offered on Saturday from 10:00-12:00 and some on Friday from 4:00-6:00. Our Mommy and Me class meets on Saturday from 9:00-9:45. All our teachers are native speakers.
